Coopers Blessing

Not to much has been going on these last few weeks. It has been busy with Cooper needing so much attention. He loves to be held and almost always cries when you put him down. It is hard to do much at home. Cayman is still adjusting and being a little hard to handle with all the disobeying and little naughty acts she pulls. She is definitely hard to handle sometimes. Here are a few random pics from over the last couple weeks.

She put Cooper in her dolly stroller and thought it was great fun to push him around. He actually really liked it!
Friday night Cory and Cayman decided to have a slumber party downstairs. They popped popcorn, had candy nerds ropes, blew up the air mattress and put on Toy story. They had a good daddy-daughter night and I got to stay upstairs with Cooper and sleep alone. It was all for fun and I am glad that they get to do things together. Cory sure loves his kids!
Saturday we had my family come into town for Coopers Blessing. Cory had a Ute football game that night and Cayman was throwing such a tantrum that she wanted to go to the game and not stay home that we had to let her go. She loves the football games with her daddy. I thought for sure she would want to stay home with us and see Aunt Mel and Aunt Alli and grandpa Jenns but she really wanted to go with Cory. They had a really good time and here are some of the pictures.
While they were at the game we just hung out and went to dinner. My Grandma Mead came down with my dad and she was going to stay at my house until Monday night and then my Cousin Becky was going to have her stay with her for a couple days. It was the first time she would see Cooper.

On Sunday we had the blessing at our home and it was much more intimate and personal than at a church. We did the same thing with Caymans blessing and we really like to do it that way. We sang I am a Child of God and then Cory gave a wonderful blessing. It was perfect and Cooper is blessed to have a daddy that is able to hold the priesthood, love the gospel, and love his family. We had a light breakfast after the blessing and thanks to everyone that came and brought something to eat. It was a great turn out.

Later that evening we took my Grandma up to the Bountiful Temple and walked around and then went on a little drive up the Bountiful B mountain. It was pretty.
We are sure blessed to have such beauty around us in just a minutes time we can be in the mountains. It is always nice to be able to get away from everyday life and be able to go into quietness. Cayman and Cory got to get out and look at the sun setting. It was beautiful.
We are so blessed to have such beautiful children and to be able to live in these days. We have truly been blessed and we are so thankful for all that we have been given. I am so happy for our little family and love Cory so much. He is a great husband, daddy and provider and I love him! Thanks for such great kids and for being the best! I love you!

A 5k and 5 weeks!

I can't believe that my little baby is now 5 1/2 weeks old. It has gone by way to fast. I just feel like we came home from the hospital. We are slowly trying to get into a routine. It is tough. Cooper thinks he needs to eat all the time. I swear he weighs 15 pounds now. We will see next week at his doctors appointment. He is getting so big. He now will respond when you talk to him, look at you, loves when I give him kisses. He will smile really big. It is so cute. He is holding his head up pretty good and in a few more weeks I think he will be able to do it. He likes tummy time and his baths. He loves to lay in the water and just relax. Cooper is getting up about every 3 hours at night to feed. He also likes to take walks outside.
Cayman is trying to be a good sister. She helps out as much as she can. She loves to help give him his bath, hold him, help burp him and feed him. She likes to push him in the stroller. She is a big help. At night Cory will put Cooper in bed next to her for prayers and sometimes when she is asleep he will put Cooper next to her and she just rolls over, hugs him and goes back to sleep. She says numerous time that Cooper is her best friend. What a sweet girl!

Cayman loves to play outside with the neighbors and would love to be out there all the time.
Cory ran in the Trudi Thomas 5k memorial this weekend. She was a sister of one of his friends Scott who was hit by a car and died. Her family puts on a 5k every year and donates the money. http://www.westbountifulartscouncil.org/trudi
Cory did not get enough notice to train so he just got up Saturday and went with his brother and they ran the race. He did a great job for not training and next year, maybe we will all do it. We will start training before this time! You can push strollers too. It is for a great cause and you can do it with friends.

Cory went to St. George again this week and every time he leaves I just feel alone. I hate that he leaves me with a new baby and a 2 year old that is very high maintenance. Thank goodness for family and friends. Jackie came and took Cayman to Mcdonalds Tuesday night and let her run around and play and then took her back to their house for a little while. It was a nice break for me and I know Cayman loves being with them. On Wednesday, we played outside with our neighbors, made princess cupcakes that were strawberry and so delicious and then met Candice and Cohen at Kangaroo Zoo to play on the bouncy toys. It was great. Cooper slept most of the time and the kids had a lot of fun. They came back to the house and played for a little bit and then we were on our own the rest of the night. Cj called to see if I was okay or if he needed to come help with Cayman or anything. I really appreciated that he thought of me. What a nice Brother in law!
We had an okay night. Cory will be back today and everything should be great. Thank goodness he is coming home!
We haven't really had much happening. I stay home a lot and go outside but thats about the extent of it. It will be easier when Cooper is a little bigger to get out and do things. I hope you like the pictures I am posting. Enjoy!

Whats new?!

The beginning of week 3 was interesting with Cory being gone and me home alone with 2 kids, having a c-section, and being so tired. I wasn't sure how I was going to make it. Little did I know, I could do it on my own. Yes, it was tough, but I made it. Here are a few of the things we have done.
I told Cayman we could make Princess Cupcakes if she was good one day and so we ended up making them. She sure loves to help out and do anything in the kitchen. It sure is messier with her helping but she has to learn sometime right? Here are just a couple pictures.

We had some fun days outside and on one of these days we found a praying Mantis in our garden. Pretty cool!
We have been letting Cooper have some time under his play mat. He looked so cute I had to get some pics!

We had been waiting forever for Coopers cord to fall off so we could finally give him his 1st baths. Finally, after 2 weeks it fell off. Cooper loved his bath! He just laid there and loved being soaped up and washed. He was so cute. Cayman of course being the helper she is...had to help. She was ready for church in her dress and that is why she is wearing a bib I guess? I don't even know where she found that. She is silly.

Cayman loves to help feed Cooper and burp him and do anything that she can. She is sometimes too helpful. Here is Cayman feeding Cooper. With assistance of course.

Cayman loves bath time. She pretends to have tea parties and always makes us come in for her party. She has about a zillion toys in the tub and makes a huge mess! Here is her tea party!
Cory went to St. George this week for 3 days and I about had a nervous breakdown thinking about being alone for 3 days. I had some great help from friends and family. My neighbor Allison came and took Cayman Monday morning before she went to work. They went to the park and Alli did her hair in a fancy braid. It looked really cute. Cayman loves her. She is a single girl in our ward and so nice! Later that day, Cj and Jackie came home from work and took her out for a couple hours. It was really nice of them.
On Tuesday, my sister Mel and her hubby Phil came down. They took Cayman swimming and then we went to dinner. It was fun to see them. I did not get any pictures though.
On Wednesday, Cooper started acting sick. I took him to the doctors and she looked him over and said all looked good minus the slight fever he had. Cayman had a runny and stuffy nose and Cooper started being congested and I just knew he was sick. She said to just watch him and if his fever got higher than 100.4 to go to the ER. They took his weight and in just a week and half he was now 9 lbs and 11 oz. I guess he is eating a lot! I feel like all I do is feed him so it makes sense.
Cory didn't get home till late Wednesday night and then had to go right back to work on Thursday. I started feeling crappy Thursday but not too bad. Cory and Cj took Cayman to the UTE game and Connie, Candice, Jackie, baby Cooper and I went to dinner. That night, Cooper cried for about 3 hours straight. I couldn't figure out what was wrong and I was very exhausted. It was a very long night. On Friday, I took him in to the doctors again and the same thing was said. He started feeling better after that and has been pretty good. I got worse. It is so hard to be a good mom when you feel like death. Thankfully, Cory got home early Friday so I could go lay down. I didn't do anything on Friday and Cory just took care of everything. Today is Saturday and I feel a little better. Cory cleaned up the whole house, I got to sleep in until 9 with the baby and Cooper seems to be doing good. Lets hope this sickness passes fast!
Well, back to Thursday. It was the first Ute game of the season and Cayman has been very excited to go. She yells Go Utes every time she sees their logo or sticker or anything with the U on it. We got her a cheerleading outfit to wear to the games and it was finally Football time! We got some good pictures and Cory said Cayman did pretty good through out the whole game with the exception of being a little restless in the last quarter. She was shy and wouldn't cheer at all. Cory was disappointed because he thought she would be funner than she was. I guess all the attention from all the fans was a little overwhelming. She looked really cute though and I guess we will see if she goes to another game. Cory and Cj bought season tickets and Cayman gets to go if she is good. This is a good Daddy and daughter bonding time. Go UTES!!
