Glacier National Park Trip

We decided to take a trip to Glacier National Park during Labor day weekend. We started out through Idaho and detoured to see my grandma and Grandpa Skidmores graves and their home.

I have very fond memories at this house. We played during weekends and ate almost every Sunday dinner here with all the cousins and aunts and uncles. It was great.
The tire swing was still hanging on a branch of the tree. We used to love to ride on it.

It was interesting to look inside and see all this junk left behind from some family. What a mess.
We drove past a potato field that they were harvesting and we told the kids to run out and grab a potato. It was such an adventure.

The next day we headed into Montana and stopped at this beautiful Flathead Lake. It was so majestic and peaceful.  Crystal clear water you could see straight to the bottom and see the rocks.

We then headed into the park.
Cayman is now a 4th grader and with that the parks let all the 4th graders have a free year pass to national parks. She was so excited to get it.

I mean these views are to die for.

We stopped to eat lunch at the river and Cooper got to throw some rocks.

We took a hike to Avalanche Lake which was around 6 miles round trip. It was so pretty and we had a pretty view. Some pretty spectacular water falls also.

How cute are these little mushrooms.

 Avalanche Lake.

Saw a deer right in our way.

 There were waterfalls everywhere!

That was a fun day and the next day we hit some bad weather. It was really windy and rainy but it was still so nice. This point was called Logan pass and it had beautiful views.

We headed into Canada to see the sights. On the way there we had some stunning views.

We got to stamp the passport book.

We headed into Waterton to get lunch and to sight see.

We had high hopes of seeing lots of bears on this trip but sadly we only saw one. I did get a pretty great picture of it though.
 Leaving Canada.

On our way back it started pouring rain like crazy and caused a mudslide down Logan pass. We had to detour our way back out and it took us over 3 hours. Not our kind of fun.

We stopped in Idaho on the way home and saw Aunt Mel and Juni and the kids rode on the motor bike for a bit.

We had a great time and the trip was so pretty.  We definitely  want to go back. The next day we did family night of Bowling.

Cooper thought it would be fun to sit by me in the bath and read books.
I also got out the old typewriter and he was fascinatated by how it worked.
The next weekend we headed to Lagoon to see the halloween.

US girls went to the womens session for general conference.

We also went with Alli and Paul and the kids to mini golf at cherry hill.

We were invited to shoot rockets with the neighbors.

 Beautiful sunset.
Cayman got a DOJO party for getting good grades in class. They had a camping theme. Here they are roasting smores.

Cooper had to get a tooth pulled and they put him on laughing gas. He was so funny after he got home.

Cayman did good at gymnastics and likes to go so much.
