Merry Christmas

A month of planning and parties and spending lots of money all leads up to one day of joy and happiness on Christmas Morning. We had so much fun this month. On the 23rd we had the Vincent Christmas party. We got together for food, stories and a gift exchange. It was fun to see everyone on Corys side. We had a good time.
Then on the 24th we went to Connies for Christmas Eve dinner. She made a turkey, ham, rolls, potatoes and all the fixings. It was really good. We then did gifts with her and the rest of the kids and had fun watching Cohen and Cayman fight over each others presents.

Cayman really likes to open gifts and she tried to open everyones. It was fun. From Connie we got an emergency first aid kit, picnic essentials, umbrella and a picture of Grandma and Grandpa Vincent.
Cayman got a grocery cart, doctors kit, 2 books and a coloring book.
Us kids switched names and I got a pair of Pjs and Cory got A Utah Flag and shirt. Cayman got a really cute dress from Cj and Jackie and Pjs from Dallas, Candice, and Cohen. It was a really fun night. Thanks everyone!
Then began our Christmas Eve at our home. We had Cayman get Santa some rice krispie treats and milk and put them on the plate.
Then we had our tradition of opening a present which is always a Christmas or childrens book and we read it together. Then we put Cayman to bed and we let Santa get to work. It was so much fun. I am like a little kid all over again. The next morning we waited and waited for Cayman to get up.... of all days to sleep in she chooses Christmas morning? I was so excited for her to see what Santa brought. She finally woke up and went downstairs and she was clinging to me for dear life, and I said look at all that Santa brought you. She wouldn't get down and then Cory said look, Santa ate his cookies. Cayman could not get over how Santa ate all the nummies all gone. She told everyone that Santa ate nummies all gone! It was so cute. She finally warmed up a little bit and decided to look at her gifts. She was so funny she put her hand on her heart and says " For Me?" I said yes, for you! Look what Santa brought! She did get spoiled and we had a really great morning. She got a baby alive dolly that wets her diaper and we probably had to change it 50 times that day. She got Elefun, which is a game that butterflies come out an elephants nose and you catch them with a net , shoes, clothes, doll diapers, doll clothes, memory, candy, books, a stuffed puppy, and lots of fun toys!

Cory and I opened our gifts and I got clothes, 2 books of piano music, a printer, and Wicked Tickets! Yipee!! I can't wait to see it!
Cory got clothes, Columbia Fleece Jacket, Seinfield DVD game and candy. He got me better christmas this year than I got him. Oh well! Later that morning Connie came over and we had breakfast and watched Mamma Mia. We had a really good Christmas day and it was so much fun to watch Cayman. She makes everything better!
I love my family and am so thankful to be able to have another baby on the way! We had been trying for 15 months so this seemed like a great Christmas present for us. A miracle in every way to be blessed with the chance to raise another child. We are so happy and I will be due in August. Cayman will be such a great big sister and such a good little helper. We are truly blessed.

Early Christmas!

We had an early Christmas with my side of the family today. Yesterday we went to dinner, shopped, and walked around Gateway mall. We came home and played 2 fun games one called Loser and the other Smart A**. It was fun. Alli and Paul, Mel and Phil, Ryan, Dad and Carma, and Miquel all were here. We had a fun night. The next morning we made a really big breakfast and then we opened gifts. It was really fun. We all got a lot of fun things. I think that I got the best gift of all from my little brother Ryan, he got me the Wii FIT game. I am so excited to try it when I am not all congested and sick with a cold. I feel awful. I was not very much fun this weekend thanks to my cold making me feel like crap. Sorry everyone. I hope you don't get sick.:D

Cayman had fun opening everyone's gifts. She would take the gift to the person and then open it for them. We all had it pretty easy and didn't even need to lift a finger.
It was fun. Cayman got a Barbie Laptop, MagnaDoodle, and Princess tea set. Cory got the Office DVD Game, Alli got 3 books, Paul got a wallet, Mel got a shirt and purse, Phil got Seinfield DVD Scene it, Ryan got a tie and a sweater, Miquel got some clothes, Dad and Carma got giftcards, new pots and pans, and towels. It seems like we all got lots of nice gifts. It was great to be with the family and spend a little time together. I love Christmas and the holiday cheer we get to have. I am blessed to have a great husband and a beautiful daughter that make me so happy day to day!

A busy Christmas week!

We have had a great week of Christmas concerts and snow. We got a good amount of snow on Monday and Cayman and I just had to make our first snowman. It was pretty cute and Cayman loves to play in the snow. She probably actually liked eating it more than playing. But what little kid doesn't eat snow? She played outside with the sled and we had a good time.

Thursday night Cory and I got to go see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square Ring Christmas Bells Christmas Concert. It was really a great concert and was just so wonderful to get into the Christmas Spirit. We went and ate at Spaghetti Factory before and then to the concert. Brian Stokes Mitchell was the main performer and then Edward Herrmann did some Narrating at the end. He plays the dad on one of my favorite shows Gilmore Girls. It was fun.

On Saturday we got a really great snow storm. We probably got 8 inches of snow and so we let Cayman play outside again and enjoy it.

It was snowing hard for most of the morning and afternoon. We took Cayman to see Santa at the IFA store in North Salt Lake. She was very good and he told her that she would get a doll! He was a really great looking Santa.
That night we got to use our Christmas gift from Cory's Grandparents the Vincents. They got us tickets to see Kurt Bestor at Abravenal Hall. What a great performance. His special guest was Jenny Oaks Baker. She is one of Americas most accomplished classical violinists. The performance was just wonderful. In the orchestra also sat my sister Melanees brother-in-law Aaron Ashton. He is a great violinist as well and I have been lucky to see him perform a number of times in Utah. Cayman got to stay home and play with Uncle CJ and Aunt Jackie. They had a really good time and took Cayman to look at her most favorite house with lights, music and the Santa in the window. We have to see it at least 2 times a week. Cayman loves it. I must say that we had a really busy, fun and Christmasy week! We are ready for more fun this week. Stay tuned!

Christmas Festivities

This week has been fun in doing lots of Christmas activities. On Wednesday we went to Kangaroo Zoo for Cayman to play on the bouncy toys. It was lots of fun for her to do that and she love to be a big girl and climb up all by herself. We then went and looked at some Christmas lights in Bountiful and found a house that had music and the lights went on and off to it and then there was Santa upstairs in a window. Cayman thought it was so great! She kept saying "Santa, Santa." It was really cute.
We went to the parade of lights on Friday night down Main Street in Bountiful. It was really cold but it was a cute little parade. Not many people were there but it was fun. There weren't too many floats either but Cayman did see Santa.

Saturday we had our Ward Christmas Party in the morning. We went to that and then headed to Cory's grandparents where Grandpa was going to dress up as Santa Claus for Cayman. He did it last year and Cayman was scared to death. We wondered how she would be this year now that she knew who Santa was, and what he looks like. Grandpa looked really great, just like Santa Claus. Cayman was a little bit nervous but when Grandpa talked, she said "Santa? Grandpa?"

We all laughed and then she sat on his lap and we got a couple pictures. It was really cute. We then headed to the Festival of Trees in Sandy with Cory's mom and walked around and looked at all the pretty trees and decorations. It is always fun to go out to that. I wish my tree was as pretty as those. It makes me want to go home and re-do our tree. I get ideas for next year anyways. I guess thats a good thing. We have had a lot of fun so far this December and will have lots more to do in the next couple weeks. We for sure will be keeping busy!

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving day. Cayman and I went up to Idaho with Alli and Paul on Wednesday afternoon. Cory had to stay and go to work at a Jazz game that night. More like fun I would say. He had a good time with his clients. We got up to dads about 6 pm and we unloaded the truck and got to see my dads new house. It looks really good and is really a nice place to stay. It will be so much better to stay with him now that I don't feel like I am imposing in my step- mothers house. This home is now both of theirs and I feel much better staying with them. Us girls decided to make our desserts and goodies for the next day and we all just hung out. Ryan come over and so did Mel and Phil. It was lots of fun. The next day, Cory stopped and picked up my Grandma Betty Mead. She is my mothers mom.

It was really special to have her there for Thanksgiving. Its kinda like having a reminder of my Mom around.
We had a great dinner and lots of food. We then played Rock Band the rest of the day. That is really a fun game and I loved the drums and oh yeah, singing. Cory loved the Guitar, and he is really good at it. It was lots of fun.

We then visited our Aunt and Uncle and our cousin Kami and her family. It was good to see them. The boys went and played Basketball that night and us girls stayed home and played Rock Band some more. At about midnight I decided I had better get some sleep since I was getting up at 4 am to hit the stores. I think I was having a mental problem because after going to that mad house I can't imagine why anyone would ever do that. It was awful. I went with Mel and Dad. Melanee just went with me so I wouldn't have to be alone. Dad dropped us off and he ran over to Lowes. Good thing Mel was with me because we couldn't get a cart so she helped carry everything. It was really a stupid idea to get up and go shopping with all the crazy's out there. Reminder to not go next year is on my Calendar telling me to stay HOME!! Needless to say I was so tired that day and Cayman was getting sick with a cold. She was not sleeping very well and got off schedule a little bit. Cory helped dad clean out the garage and tried to get things organinzed from the move. Paul and Alli helped after lunch and then we just kinda hung out and talked and then went to dinner at Applebees. We left after dinner to get Cayman home in her bed and then on Saturday we tried to go to Park City and go shopping but after one store, Cayman was being terrible and fighting with both of us and grandma Connie. We had to leave and come home. That was a wasted trip. Then on Sunday we went to Temple Square and looked at the lights. It was really pretty and something we love to do each year as a family. I never get tired of looking at the lights.

That was our big weekend. Hope everyone had a great holiday!
