The 24th of July

We had a great 23rd and 24th of July!! It all started by going swimming at the clubhouse with Candice and Cohen. They came up from Springville and we all just played. We then went to the parade in Bountiful and met Alli and Paul, Dallas, The Carters, and The Huggards. It was so much fun to watch the little kids run around and to grab the candy when it came flying. Cayman got to be really good at running for it. She took in a haul of taffy. What fun to be young again. There were some really cute floats and even though it was like 100 degrees, It was fun.!!

After the parade we went to Chilis. It was yummy. It was a little too late after dinner to go to the fireworks so we just watched them from the pool. It was a great night. The next day on the 24th...we got up and got ready to drive to Alta to see the wildflowers and have a picnic. We drove up and it was really busy. We got out and took a little trail and Cayman had a lot of fun hiking.

We saw some really pretty waterfalls and flowers. It was so busy that there were no picnic tables or spots to eat so we just drove out and ate at Grandma and Grandpa Vincents. We took Cayman home for a nap and then went to the carnival. What a fun time it was. The first thing we did was the Pony rides. Cayman loves to see horses and I have always wanted to let her ride on one.. I am so happy that she got to ride two at the Carnival.

She was in heaven!! Her smile was so big and she just looked like a natural Cowgirl. What fun!! She loved to ride the rides there too. The swings were lots of fun and the Ferris wheel went up pretty high for a little girl all by herself.

She is getting so big!! We walked around and she got to go in a Tepee..and then painted some rocks. She rode on a little train that went around the park. After that we went home and BBQed and then had the Carters and Thomas's over to do Fireworks. It was a blast!!

The little kids had such fun and it just makes me happy to see them happy. I don't think we could have had a better couple days. Cory said this was his best 24th of July yet!! I would have to agree. Kids make everything better!! I love it!!Happy 24th of July!!

Bounce house anyone?

What a day....Yesterday was kids free day at Kangaroo Zoo. It is this place that has all these bouncy houses, slides, mazes and just lots of fun things for kids...and adults that have to help their kids play on.

Cayman and I went with Gary, Stephanie, Carson and Mckenna and we were having a great time. Gary took Cayman on some the tall slides that I couldn't carry her up on and then Cory showed up. Yipee... now he could take Cayman on these. It was really tough trying to hold on to your kid and pull yourself up to these big slides. We decided to have a race on the one and he went down but I missed the last step or something and fell down the back side that I had just pulled myself up on. Needless to say I felt my left ankle twist something wicked and about passed out. Not only did it hurt like crazy... I had to get through the maze to get back out of the bouncy toy. I had to climb over things, squeeze through tunnels, and then slide out onto the floor on my butt. What a nightmare. Cory came over and helped me up and then just laughed at me because I hurt myself on a bouncy toy....Stupid me. I couldn't put any pressure on my foot and it hurt so bad to try to walk that I got in to see my doctor and he had me get x-rays. It was not broken but swollen and sprained pretty bad. He put a compression wrap on it with a nice PINK ace wrap. I can't believe how bad it hurts.

I am just Icing it and elevating it. Kinda hard to rest with a little one running around. It is just my luck that this would happen to me. I don't really like playing on these toys and Cory usually takes her...but when it was FREE, I couldn't pass up taking Cayman for she likes to play. Freak things happen to me all the time. Crazy huh?
