Summer Holiday fun!!

We went to The Treehouse Museum for the first time because it was a free day. We had been wanting to take the kids there so it was a perfect time. If you have been to Discovery gateway, this is very similar. The kids had a great time roaming around, looking, feeling, and playing with everything. Here is Cayman milking a cow.
They had some bulls to ride on and Cayman and Cooper dressed up in Cowboy gear and hats and rode the bulls.
Cooper did not love the hat but he looked so cute. Cayman as always was ready for whatever!
Cayman got to play teacher and student at school.
She got to play house
Her and Cooper got to be king and queen for short time also! Nice thrones!
This was the biggest chess board I had ever seen and the kids loved moving the pieces. It was a little annoying that some kids and parents actually wanted to play a game of chess and not let kids touch and explore.
Here is Cooper making this thing turn into different directions. And he loved moving the gears and playing with this little gizmo!
They had a firetruck there that you could sit in and dress up and Cayman waited patiently for over 20 minutes to finally get this get up on. She was so happy. There was a guy and his 3 kids over taking the firetruck and he was actually reading books inside the seat so no one else could get up front. I was needless to say a little annoyed that a grown man was making it so the little kids couldn't play. What a dweeb! Here is our firefighter. The last straw of the day was when we let Cooper play and climb into a toy train. A little girl about 5 came barreling inside and knocked the train off the base which was about 3 feet in the air and Cooper went down with it and hit his head on the floor. We had enough of the busy place, rude kids and rude parents and we left. We will have to go back when its a little calmer.

Cooper has been eating big people food lately and rarely will eat his bottles. He just throws them on the floor and throws a tantrum. I try to let him eat with us whenever we eat. Here he is eating Spaghetti and beans. Yum!!
And here he is eating french toast, eggs and hashbrowns.
The other night we decided to have a sleep out on the tampoline and watch a movie. We invited some neighbor kids to come watch the movie outside and we had treats and smore's. Cayman loved this and her and Cory made it through the night! What fun. The next morning, I was getting Coopers bottle and he saw them through the window and went crazy trying to get to them. He had fun waking Cayman up.
My dad and sister came down the last weekend for fun and we went to a Bees Baseball game.

Cory took the kids on the train ride that is free and that was fun. I ended up breaking our camera when I dropped it grabbing Cooper from Cory but I got it to still take some pictures. It was pretty fun but really hot and Cooper was ready for a nap so we left a little early. It was fun to see everyone and go to a game. Next time we will try on the grass so the kids can run around a little bit.
Later that week we flew some kites outside in the wind and Cooper even got the chance to hold onto a kite. He was standing all by himself and was so cute. He ended up letting go of the string and the kite flew away. I found it later on the back side of the street on a fence.

Cayman has started Ice skating lessons and did really well for her first class. She is going every Wednesday for the next 5 weeks.

We decided to make midnight breakfast one night and Cory made pancakes in the shape of Mickey for Cayman. She had chocolate chips in hers and ate the whole thing! Cooper loved his too. He likes to get in the cupboards and drawers whenever he can. It is driving me crazy that he gets into everything.
This last weekend was the big 24th of July weekend. We always have lots to do and stay really busy. Connie had Friday off work so we went up to the Dinosaur park in Ogden and got to look around and play on the toys. Cooper had a lot of fun discovering new things and loved looking at everything. Cayman just loved it all.

Later that night was the big parade in Bountiful. I went early that morning to get a spot and was shocked that everything was taken. I was not happy that people had set up the night before and then came super early in the morning also to stake out their spots. The city would not allow you to set up before 7 am so I am not sure how the whole parade route was taken by 630am. Thankfully, my friend Camille called and said she had extra space if we needed it. I took it! We normally sit on the west side and this time we were on the east. What a difference. We were smoking hot and the sun was blaring down on us. It was the most miserable heat ever!

The kids were trying to sit anywhere there was shade to cool off and we went through water and otter pops like crazy. It was so hot!! We did have fun and that's all that matters. Candice and her family came and so did Connie. We had a great time and then went back to our pool to cool off with a swim and watch the fireworks. It was awesome. No one was there and we swam in the dark, watched fireworks by the fire and enjoyed a cool evening.

Cayman took in a loot of candy at the parade and now is eating it for breakfast! Yum!
The next day we went to the Handcart carnival in the park and were very disappointed to find out that the pony rides were not there this year! What a bummer. That was our highlight of the carnival. Alli and Paul met us there and we once again braved the heat and walked around, the kids rode some rides and Cayman made a necklace. She also got a rainbow painted on her leg.

After the carnival we decided to go eat and went to Scaddys in Salt Lake. Cayman got a kids meal cheeseburger and as you can see it is huge.
It was pretty good food and Alli, Cory and I got philly sandwiches. Yummy!
That night we had fun in the circle at the neighborhood BBQ. You bring your own meat, a sidedish to share and some fireworks and that is the party in the making. It was lots of fum and the fireworks were awesome. One of our neighbors goes to Wyoming and gets illegals and must spend a fortune. They were great and not only that, but 2 other houses in the neighborhood had done the same so we had our own firework show. One of the houses in the other circles across the neighborhood actually had the police come shut them down. Crazy night, but fun!

After all this excitement I am ready to relax. Cooper had a bad day yesterday and fell out of the bathtub and hit his head. He got a little bump and was okay but that night, he hit his head at great grandmas and he now has a black eye. Poor little guy. He actually took 6 steps on his own and we may soon have a walker! Thats all for now. Sorry its so long!
