Caymans recital and Coops field trip!

Cayman had her first piano recital and she was able to play 3 songs for us. She takes piano from our neighbor behind our street who is deaf and had a cochlear ear plant. She taught herself to play and does awesome. She has been great with Cayman. Here is the princess.

She did so great and I was so proud of her. Aunt Alli was able to come and so was Cj and Jackie. Our good friends Emily and Eric came also. It was a very special night for Cayman.
That week Cooper had a field trip to the Pizza Pie cafe. He learned all about pizza and then got to eat some.

Here he is with his buddy Owen eating their pizza.

Jazz Co-Captain

had entered Cory into a contest with the Utah Jazz to be co-captain of a game a while back. He actually won and they called to set up a date.  Cory was so happy when he found out it was against the Miami Heat. He was so excited to go!! We got a babysitter and had a fun night out.  We got to sit courtside for the practice and see all the players up close. I got to take a ton of pictures. Cory got to go in the middle for the hand shake between the teams and shake their hands. It was pretty cool. He got a Gordan Hayward signed jersey and fleece blanket. It was pretty fun.  I was standing so close to Lebron James I could have kissed him if I wanted too. They are sure tall!

Here Cory is in the huddle and handshakes!

 It was a fun night!

New news!

We started off the month with Cooper having to have some dental work done in his mouth. He needed to be sedated before we went in so I was given a prescription to give him and after about 10 minutes he couldn't even stand up.  He was so funny trying to walk and move. He kept laughing and I had to carry him to the car. He said how sleepy he was the whole drive there. We got to the dentist where I carried him in and they gave him some laughing gas and he was out. They filled 2 teeth and did 2 pulpotomies which are baby root canals. He got 2 silver crowns on his teeth.
He did so good during it but afterwards he cried for 8 hours. He was in a lot of pain.  I gave him some medicine and a bath and tried to calm him down.
You can see how sad he was. Hopefully we won't have to do that again!
We also had a few remodeling projects done which included getting laminate flooring and granite countertops.  Here are the before pictures.

And then the during and after.

I bought some new barstools and recovered them and also made some new window valances. We love the end result!! Looks really nice!

Ice castles

We have had a fun January.  But first this is a picture of Cory's ankle after surgery.
A few weeks after that he fell down the stairs and caught himself with his hand. It was hurting for a few days and hard to walk with crutches so he went to the doctors to have his hand x-rayed and it had a slight fracture in it. They casted his wrist and then he looked all kinds of sad.
We got a nice amount of snow one day so Cooper and I made some small snow men. He made one of him and one of Cayman. He sure misses her when she is at school.
My sister and Phil came to ski one weekend and so we went to their hotel and went swimming. It was a lot of fun.

In Midway there was an ice castle showing and so we went to see the beautiful castle and wander around. Candice met us up there for lunch and then we let the kids play in the snow. It was amazing to see such art. It was all made from ice.
