Day 4 & 5

Day 4 we went to Belize and saw the Altun -Ha ruins from the Mayan period. Cory was excited to climb these massive buildings.  We were taken by bus through the city on an hour ride.  We saw the town and where the Prime Minister lived. The town was mostly dirty, covered in garbage, most of the land was flooded and house were on stilts sinking.
It was a really sad sight. Makes  us appreciate what we have here in the US.  We got to the ruins and had to listen to a little bit of information and then we could go explore.  The place was actually covered by jungle and had to be excavated. These ruins were actually the tallest structures in Belize.

All done getting ready to get back on the ship. It was such a hot day we were ready to get in the pool.
 Cooling off on the ship.

That night the kids went to camp and came back as tigers!  A fun night again.

Day 4 we headed to Roatan Honduras.

Our excursion was to swim with the dolphins at Anthoneys key. We had a short ride by bus to the resort in which we followed a truck full of police with machine guns.

It is so crazy that the police in these countries have such scary weapons with them.  We got to the  resort and were taken by boat over to the dolphins.  Once in the ocean we met Dixon. He was a young dolphin maybe 5. He was a show off and also had a mind of his own. He didn't listen as well as some of the other dolphins but we had a great time.  We got to pet him and surprisingly he was very soft. Not slippery or slimy.  They shed their skin every 2-3 hours.  We got to hold him under his belly and then he gave all of us a kiss on the cheek. It was amazing.  An experience we won't forget.

After that we headed to the beach in Roatan and let the kids play in the water and sand.  That night for dinner Cooper decided he really liked the steak. So he ate steak and Cayman got her usual pasta with tomato sauce.
