San Francisco!

We left for San Francisco on Wednesday night after Cayman's ballet. We drove straight through the night and arrived around 3 am. The kids did really pretty good in the car and both fell asleep around 11pm. We got to our hotel and just our luck, they had given our room away. Why? Who knows. I had called 2 days earlier and requested a late arrival. We were told to go find a hotel and sleep there then come back in the morning and they would hold our stuff for our stay the next 2 nights. Great, just what I wanted to do, unpack all our stuff only to pack it up again and then unpack it again. They paid for our hotel that night and the next morning we got up and drove to San Francisco. Here we are crossing the toll bridge into the city. Here is Coit tower! We didn't get a chance to go up there but we did see it!We headed straight for Pier 39 on Fishermans wharf. This is how the kids got around. Cayman had to always ride in the stroller too. I wish we had brought 2. Its pretty cozy in there!
First things first we had to ride the carousel. What fun!

Cayman had to get a picture with the one and only Spongebob!
Then she found her boyfriend....
We headed down to the Pier to see the sea lions sunbathing. What a funny sight and what a horrible smell. It was so awful. The kids had fun looking at them and Cooper loved to run around.

Here is a foggy Alcatraz behind the family.
We then left for the Giants game. Cory was so excited to see a game here in the AT&T park.

Wewere walking around the top of the stadium watching the ocean and this is where a bunch of guys sit in kayaks and wait for a ball to be hit in the water. In 10 years 55 balls have been hit in the water, we were lucky that day and got to see the ball land in the ocean and this guy totally dove in the water to get it and held it up for everyone to see. Pretty awesome!
We got to sit in this trolley car they have at the top of the stadium also. Cayman and Cooper just had a blast running around it.
They have this little play zone for kids to play in and we let Cayman hit a ball and run the bases. It was pretty cute.
After the game we went back down to Pier 39 and went to the Aquarium of the bay and looked at the fish. It was pretty neat to go in the tunnels that are giant fish tanks surrounding you. It was fun to look through and Cooper loved watching the fish swimming by.
The kids then got to touch a sting ray and starfish.

Next stop was the Wax museum.
No, Mr. President, I will not be voting for you come re-election. Thumbs down!!Cory with all the sports athletes!

Cayman with her friends from Wizard of Oz!
Can you guess who the star is with her boobies hanging out?.......

Oh, ya that is Beyonce! Whatever! Most of these wax figures didn't look anything like the stars. There were only a couple good ones. It was fun to go see though.
We then headed up to Ghiradelli square. What a lot of walking we did. I was so tired at the end of the night. And it was pretty cold. After that we headed to the Golden Gate Bridge. It was so foggy and cold but we did get out and walk across it.
Here are the kids all bundled up and warm. Riding together in a stroller built for one.
Wow...It is up really high. The view was very pretty and amazing. This is one of the beams holding up the bridge. It is so tall.
We stopped for a picture down at the bottom and there was a guy taking pictures into the ocean of what he thought was a sea lion but when he looked closer it was a fin of a shark. Here is my attempt at the picture. Kinda blurry but yup, you can see a fin...
Wow, what a day. Yes that was all in one day. This ends day one. Here is day 2!
We woke up and drove to Pleasanton where Cory used to live. We had breakfast and then drove around the town. He showed us his school and the house he used to live in. It was a cute town. We ended up going back there for dinner that night to eat pizza at a place Cory used to love named Mountain Mikes pizza.
We then went to Lombard street which is famous for the crooked street and drove down it. What a cute area. I couldn't believe how steep the road after crooked street was. We got out and walked around and this pictures is us standing straight up. That is how steep the road is...the cars look like they will tip over.
Cooper wanted to walk on the sidewalk but it was so steep he was falling down. We drove down to China town but only got this picture. We then went to the Pier again and walked around. Cayman and Cooper found this stage to perform on and they had a little audience.

It seemed that everywhere we went, people would comment on how cute our kids were. You could watch peoples faces and when our kids were around, they would smile. I always knew I had cute kids but this proves it!!
We then went on our Alcatraz tour. We took the ferry over to the island and Cooper and Cayman had fun on the boat watching the water. One of my favorite pictures..

At Alcatraz, we put on headphones and went on our self guided tour. We got to tour the facility and see everything there was. Some of you may not know this but the Island didn't just hold prisoners. Families of the guards lived on the island in a separate home. The kids played on the dock and caught the ferry to school every morning in San Francisco. This was their home also. If that was my family, I think I would have been terrified! Not my ideal neighborhood!

These are the showers that the prisoners would use.
This picture is of the escape..they made paper mache heads to look like real people sleeping. In the back of the room under the sink is the vent they crawled through to escape.
This is where the vent lead to..they climbed up the pipes and through the roof and then they were home free!

Alcatraz was a really neat place to visit. I am glad I got to go there. Just more pics...

After our tour we took the kids to the Exploratorium. Little Cooper was so tired that he was asleep most of the time. Cayman and Cory had a great time exploring!! Enjoy the pics.

Cooper was now awake to enjoy the exploring!

When the fun ended we walked around outside and found this fun tree to climb in.

We drove down to the beach and let the kids play in the sand for a little bit. Cayman of course found a little friend to play with and Cooper walked with daddy on the beach watching kite flyers.

We walked out on a pier by this beach and watched how they caught crabs. It was pretty fun to watch and one of the guys took a crab out of his net and showed Cooper how to hold it. Cayman was not willing to try.

T

We left and headed back to our hotel where Cooper and Cayman liked to play in this dresser. Cooper thought it was great fun to lock Cayman in here. Pretty funny watching them play together.
