Yellowstone and more

We have had fun these last couple weeks and as you can see we are getting ready for game day. We went up to the U of U bookstore and got a few things. The kids got some new shirts and Cooper looks handsome as ever in his jersey. Cayman loves her new shirt too! Cory decided to see how much U stuff he had and had to lay it out on the bed. I would say we are set for football season! Oh my!!

We went to the Castle Park in Farmington and let the kids play on the toys. Cooper was loving walking around and he even went down the slide himself. He loved it! I think the slides and swings are his favorite! Cayman and daddy played on the tire swing and got it going way fast. I don't know how they do it. It makes me so sick. We had fun and then went home.

This past weekend we had our first ever Skidmore family reunion. We haven't just had our family take time off and all be together at the same time ever. It was fun. We went to Badger creek in Tetonia Idaho and got to do the swing. If you don't know what this place is, it is a team building camp for BYU Idaho students. My brother in law Phil's brother Bryan, manages it and he allowed us to come up and take advantage of his backyard! It was really fun and I have never done something like this before. You get all harnessed up and then it takes the group to pull a rope your connected to and they pull you to the top of this very high tower. When you are ready, you let go of the rope and then you are just swinging away high in the trees. These are videos of Cory and I.

It was a crazy feeling and I was scared to death. Everyone did it first and then I was last. I did it and screamed like a baby and then I was sick for about 4 hours afterwards. I get sick on rides and this was lots worse. I was proud of myself for doing it! It was fun to all be able to pull the rope and hoist everyone up. It was a team effort and we had fun.
Thanks Brian for letting us use the place! Afterwards we drove to Ashton and ate at Big Juds. It is a great little hamburger joint famous for its 1lb burger. Then we were off to Island Park. My cousins Scott and Cheree offered us the use of their family cabin this weekend and it was way nice! It was fun for our family to just hang out, visit, play games and have my kids bugging everyone! Wahoo!!
The next morning we got up and went to Yellowstone Park. It looked like it might not be the best day to go into the park but we tried it. The morning was okay and we stopped at a couple sights like firehole swimming hole and then this beautiful waterfall. Cory and Ryan were very daring and hiked all the way to the bottom of the river and got pretty close to the water. We sat up above watching. Then we headed to Old Faithful. By the time we got there, it was raining a little bit and then stopped for us to see it erupt. It was so cold and wet that the geyser just was steaming. You couldn't see it very well and this was all we saw. Here is a video of Old faithful.
We went and ate our picnic in the lodge since it wasn't nice enough to eat outside. Cooper found this luggage rack and loved to play on it.

Then the rain just started down pouring. We made a dash to the car and decided to try and wait out the rain at the painted pots. We waited and waited, and no such luck. The rain won. We decided to go back into West and we ate at the Gusher and then headed back to the cabin. I was very sad that we didn't get to explore the park or see anything cool. We didn't even see any animals. Crazy! That night Cayman entertained us all by performing many dance and song numbers. What a hoot this girl is. She was acting out all her performances and it was so fun! Here she is singing as Ariel.
The next day we got ready to leave and thats when we saw some animals. Right on the cabin property was a Momma Antelope and her 2 babies. Cayman was very excited to see them and her Cory tried to get a closer look.

We had a fun weekend and then we headed home. As summer is coming to a close, Cayman wanted to have a swimming pool party. We invited some neighbors over and made M&Ms chocolate chip cookies and popsicles and everyone got wet and had fun.
We are looking forward to Labor day weekend and I will post more later!

What a fun time you guys had! That swing looks like fun, but I would probably also be sick for 4 hours after :)

Caymen is so cute! I loved her singing, that was adorable :)
