Temple, St. George fun and Zions Park

Sunday we took a little outing to Temple square to see the flowers. It was so pretty and they were all in bloom. We of course had to pretend to do our own photo shoot. So here are a bunch of pictures with the kids.

We started for St. George Monday afternoon. We had taken Cooper to the Ear Nose and Throat specialist to be looked at and his hearing tested a little before we left. The doctor couldn't see in his ear because of all the ear wax, so he had to clean it out. Cooper cried hysterically and the doctor got out a bunch of junk. I couldn't believe he had so much stuff in his ears. The poor kid probably couldn't hear anything. He passed his hearing test after that and the fluid level in his ears was good. He was fine. The doctor said he wouldn't put tubes in his ears just yet, but to watch and see if he gets another ear infection in the next month or so, then tubes would be good. We were happy that it wasn't too serious and that tubes could be put aside for now. We hit the road and stopped in Provo to eat. Cooper was kind of fussy and kept grabbing his ears. He was just cuddling with me when he puked all over my top. So gross. I went and changed us both and then we ordered our food. Cooper was pretty whiny still and right before the meal came, he puked all over me, the floor, the booth and everyone around us saw it. It was a lot. I felt so awful. I cleaned us both up again and then Cory took him outside. He seemed to be feeling okay. He was running around and smiling. We hit the road and Cooper started getting cranky and pulling at his ears. After a couple hours of driving, we stopped at a gas station and Cooper once again, puked all over me and the floor. Poor kid. We got cleaned up and then Cooper slept the rest of the way to St. George. I had to wonder if cleaning out his ears made his hearing sensitive and his equilibrium a little off making him nauseous . I was hoping for a better start the next morning. Cooper woke up and seemed to be feeling pretty good. We had a good start to the morning. We went to Zions and went on a little hike in the nice weather.

Cayman was pretty adamant that she did not want to hike and that she hated it. Nice, we are in sunny weather and she wants to be difficult. At least she was excited to see the horses. Cooper really wanted to see them too.

We made our day short and had lunch. Then I had to do a load of laundry so that Cooper and I had clothes to wear the rest of our trip. We went swimming while I did that. The kids love to swim and it was such a nice day!

That night we went to Hidden Valley park and let the kids play on the toys. It was a great day.

The next day we went to the park first thing in the morning and played in the nice warm sun. Cayman got to make chalk drawings and Cooper had fun in the swings. We then went to play in the City Hall river walk water park and we had a great time. I love this area and I wish we had a place like that here. So much fun!! It was so warm we needed sunscreen and even then we all got a little sun. Cooper had fun running through the little rivers and climbing on the rocks. Cayman loved making new friends and playing in the water. Cayman was excited to find the frog prince. It was so hot to the touch that she couldn't kiss it.

That night we went to Zions again and stopped at this little petting zoo along the way. We paid a dollar each and then entered this not very safe place. Boards were broken, nails and glass all over the buildings. The animals were all enclosed in barbed wire so there really was no petting and other than it being pretty cute to look at, it was kind of a bust.

We then drove through the Canyon Tunnel and did the Canyon overlook hike. It is amazing to think that in the 1920's they built a road through a mountain and it is still there today. This is the whole in the mountain you can see as you are driving up to the tunnel and once inside the tunnel, you can see out this hole. Amazing. It is over a mile long and just a sight to see. Awesome!! The hike was pretty steep and it was quite windy. Cayman of course just wanted to leave she was so scared and it was dangerous. She kept saying. This is why the pics of her looks like she is afraid. My crazy kid, other than that it was fun and we had a great time.

The next morning we went to another park we hadn't been to before and then we headed home.

It was a fun little break and the weather was very nice! It is always good to be home in your own bed at night though and the kids missed their toys like crazy. We are excited for some egg hunts this weekend and Easter on Sunday. We will post more then!
