Disney world, Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney

Wow, what a vacation we had!! We went to Florida to Walt Disney World! Exciting! We got to the airport at 10 am Saturday morning and had a layover in Atlanta where our flight was delayed. We went to get a bite to eat and of all the places to meet someone we knew, we ran into Cory's Cousin Derrick. He ate with us and then we were on our way to our destination! We waited and waited for the darn shuttle to arrive to pick us up and by the time we got to our hotel it was now after 10pm. What a long day of traveling but we had to do a little exploring first and we walked around our hotel. We stayed at the All star Movies resort on Disney property and stayed in the Toy story courtyard.

It was so cute and totally for kids. Bright and early we woke up and headed for our Character Breakfast at Chef Mickeys. It was so fun and Cayman loved to see all the characters.

Cooper was not sure what exactly was happening at this point but he soon caught on! We then headed to Disney World.
First character we meet is Daisy. Cayman and Cooper were so happy!
We did lots of rides and met lots of characters this day.

Here are Drizella, The step-mom, and Anastasia from Cinderella. And the Fairygodmother
This is Caymans favorite princess Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.
We met Tiana and Prince Nevin.
Here is Cayman with Jasmine and Aladdin.
We met Buzz Lightyear and Cooper was finally happy it wasn't a princess! He was touching Buzz all over his face. Cayman's favorite rides were splash mountain and Thunder mountain. She of course loved the tea cups! So did little Coop. He loves to spin.
We picked this time of year to go to Disneyworld because Cory had seen a special on the park at Christmas time. The lights and decorations and everything holiday at this park was just spectacular. We booked our stay months in advance and then found out at the park that unless you paid extra for the Christmas Party, you couldn't see the lights and enjoy the celebrations. Well, the party was sold out and Disney World closed at 7 pm for anyone who wasn't in the party. We were just a little mad about this fact. But we did see the Castle lit up. It was very pretty.
I also need to mention that the weather there was not nice. It was colder than in Utah and in the 40's and 50s. We had to wear our jackets the whole trip and even buy the kids some hoodies so they wouldn't freeze. It was not the weather we had anticipated. The next day we went to Animal Kingdom. We went here on 2 different days so that is why some pictures we are wearing different clothes. At every park they had a hugenormous tree decorated before you entered. We first saw Turk off of Tarzan, and then King Louie and Baloo from Jungle Book.

We then saw the Mickey Mouse gang dressed up in their Christmas gear.

Here we saw Pooh! This is Thumpers girlfriend. Cooper loved the bunny. He was even kissing her. Here we saw Pocahontas.
This was the tree of life. It was awesome how they carved animals into the tree. It was on both sides and amazing!
We also went on the Safari ride. It was by far one of Coopers favorite. He would go from me to Cory back and forth where ever he saw the most animals out the side of the jeep. He loved it. We did that ride 3 times. We did this ride about 10..
Here is a gigantic snowman! We let the kids play in this dinosaur park and Cooper loved to dig in this sand. We would have stayed longer if wasn't so cold.

This is the ride Mt Kilimanjaro . It was pretty fast and fun roller coaster.
On our 2nd visit there, it was quite warmer and the kids had some icecream.

That afternoon Connie flew in to spend the rest of the week with us. It was so much fun. We went to Downtown Disney that night and walked around and shopped a little bit. Here are some pics. We even got to let the kids visit Santa. Cooper was having none of the little old man! Get me outta here!

I will do a second post on the next couple days later. Check back for more!

Looks fun!! It's pretty cool all of the Disney Characters you were able to see. Way more than Disneyland has! Can't wait to see more pictures!
